Round connector

Circular connectors are multipole circular connectors with screw locking and shielding. Depending on the protection class( IP) and EMC requirements, they can have one or more shields. They are offered shielded and unshielded.

Circular connectors differ mainly in the number of plug contacts, the type of shielding and locking. As a rule, they have a screw lock.

As far as the number of mating contacts and the size are concerned, the diameter of 3-, 4- and 6-pole circular connectors is 7 mm, and 10 mm for 9-, 10- and 12-pole connectors. Depending on the design, circular connectors are made of plastic or metal and are equipped with one or two shields. They can be waterproof and meet the IP-67 degree of protection or dustproof and meet the IP-40 degree of protection. Better known circular connectors used in communication technology are the M connectors M8, M12, M23, M25 and 7/8".

Circular connectors ensure secure connections and are suitable for load currents of several amperes (A).
