Internet presence provider (IPP)

An Internet Presence Provider (IPP) is a company that supports clients in their Internet presence, such as website design and optimization. These providers act as an agency for managing the Internet presence of companies, government agencies, educational institutions, research institutes, etc.

The offers of Internet Presence Providers can be complete packages for website design, or they can be charged on a fee basis. The service packages can include all services for the creation and operation of a website: From domain nameregistration, design, e-store setup, linking, maintenance, and provision of servers and required storage.

The difference with an Internet Service Provider( ISP) is that an Internet Presence Provider does not provide Internet access to its customers, but rather services in website marketing. However, various Internet Service Providers offer one or both of these services: Internet Presence Provider and Internet Access Provider( IAP).
