DIN speaker connector

For speaker plugs, no uniform standard for plugs has been established. The DIN speaker plug is therefore one of several plugs used in audio systems for connecting the speaker cable.

The DIN speaker plug, specified in DIN 41529, is a two-pole plug that has a flat and a round contact pin and therefore cannot be reversed in connection polarity. The round pin is for positive polarity and the flat pin is for negative polarity. The two speaker wires are secured in the connector with screw terminals. It is rated for currents up to 4 amps.
