In Fiber Distributed Data Interface ( FDDI), the primary ring is switched to the secondary ring in the event of a fault. This is referred to as a wrap. The FDDI stations on both sides of the fault reconfigure themselves and form a new logical ring from the primary ring and the secondary ring.
