wireless media access control (WLAN) (WMAC)

Wireless Media Access Control (WMAC) is a standardization proposal for wireless media access for WLANs according to 802.11.

This standardization proposal is based on a distributed access protocol.

The Wireless Media Access Control must take into account the special properties in the propagation of radio signals. These include the carrier frequency and its behavior, the possibility of eavesdropping on the radio channels, and the error rate in the case of disturbed radio channels.
