voltage measurement
Analog and digitalvoltage meters are used to measure voltage; these can be voltmeters, multimeters or digital multimeters.
When measuring voltage, the meter must always be connected in parallel with the voltage being measured. To keep the current flow across the meter as low as possible and thus avoid measurement errors, the internal resistance of the voltmeter should be high impedance. Therefore, voltmeters have a high impedance series resistor located before the moving coil movement or moving iron movement coil. The current flow through the measuring instrument is thus minimized and no additional voltage drops occur.
