Voice dialing is voice-controlled dialing of telephone numbers. With voice dialing, the user speaks the desired number into the telecommunications terminal equipped with a voice-controlled user interface(VUI), the telephone, cell phone or smartphone.

The terminal uses speech recognition and voice processing to convert the spoken digit into an electronic digit signal, which it uses to establish the desired connection to the caller. During this process, the voice processing system compares the spoken number with previously recorded voice inputs. Because of the phonetic differences, all users must enter their own voice tags, which are used for comparison.

Some cell phones and smartphones support voice dialing with the voice input of the call number or the name of the call partner.
