From the term vlogger, the direct connection with the blogger can be seen. The neologism vlogger was created from the terms video and blogger: What the blogger creates text-based, the vlogger creates video-based.

Vloggers can be amateurs and professionals, private and business people, activists, realists, militarists and pacifists, children, teenagers and adults. Anyone who has the equipment to create videos, who wants to contribute themselves, who wants to spread their opinion or current events, who wants to point out offenses and transgressions, or who simply wants to make their thoughts known in visual form is a vlogger.

Vloggers are part of video journalism. Their video messages can be the basis for the research of television stations. They can document abuses and environmental sins, human rights violations and torture, oppression and disasters.
