Virtual Memory System (VMS) is a Digital Equipment Corporation(DEC) operating system for VAX minicomputers.

The VMS operating system is a multitasking capablemulti- user system where the individual user worked on his own virtual computer. The system, which was developed in the 1970s, was used in technical and scientific applications, but is no longer of any significance today.
