Vehicle Electric Container (VEC) is a standardized data format for the exchange of vehicle electrical system data.

The VEC format is specifically concerned with the exchange of line data sets. The requirements for the line data sets are completely different according to the departments. For example, in development it is a matter of geometric data and component descriptions, in customer service it is a matter of repair instructions and in warehousing and purchasing it is a matter of parts lists and specifications.
