enterprise validation authority (EVA)

The Enterprise Validation Authority (EVA) is an entity thatchecks the validity of certificates. This is intended to prevent attackers from using forged or stolen certificates to penetrate a network via secure Internet connections.

EVA checks the validity of the certificate and whether the certificate holder exists. In addition, the certificate authority checks the revocation lists of all invalid certificates. Only after all security-relevant factors have been checked is the connection established, with policies regulating the encryption method used.
