unsymmetrical to ground
The ground unbalance, Unsymmetrical to Ground, is a characteristic value of TP cables and stands for the voltage between each individual line of the twisted pair cable (TP) and the grounded shield.
The unbalance to ground directly influences the transmission behavior of TP cables. If both pairs of wires are completely identical in construction, then symmetrically coupled interference is eliminated and the transmission lines remain unbalanced, with respect to ground. The symmetry of the construction reduces the interference signals by about 40 dB, but it increases with frequency.
Another characteristic value, which also stands for ground unbalance, is the transverse conversion loss ( TLC).
