The UTOPIA interface is an ATM interface.

The UTOPIA specifications define a uniform interface between the physical layer and higher the layers of ATM components. With these definitions, the development of ATM systems for different transmission media can be made much more efficient, since the UTOPIA interface defines a uniform interface to higher protocol functions for all media.
