unit separator (US)

Unit Separator(US) is an information separator( IS) from the IA-5 alphabet (International Alphabet 5) for the division of a message into sub-blocks. The unit separator is used for subgroup separation and error detection without immediate acknowledgement from the other side. The US control character occupies ASCII position 031 in the ASCII character set.
