uniform communication protocol

The uniform higher communication protocols (UHCP) were standardized protocols for communication within layers 4 to 6 of the OSI reference model.

Since international standardization of these protocols was still under discussion at the time the EHKP protocols were developed, national specifications were made in the Federal Republic of Germany.

Originally, it was a standardization procedure for public administration initiated by the Federal Minister of the Interior. EHKP (uniform higher communication protocols) are based on the 7- layer model of the OSI reference model. EHKP 4 to EHKP 6 (Transport, Session, Presentation) have so far been implemented by Deutsche Telekom as part of the screen text network.
