ultra lightweight encapsulation (ULE)

Ultra LightEncapsulation (ULE) is a further development of Multiprotocol Encapsulation

(MPE). Ultra Light Encapsulation was developed by an IEFT working group, which reduced the quite 12-byteheader of the MPE protocol by four bytes. The ULE header consists only of the two-byte data field for the packet length and the type field, also two bytes long. This header is followed by the four-byte data field IPv4 datagram and the two-byte data field for the cyclic block check (CRC).
