ultra high pressure (projector lamp) (UHP)

The Ultra High Pressure (UHP) Lamp is a projector lamp developed by Philips for projectors.

The UHP lamp is a mercury arc lamp that has an exceptionally high internal pressure of approximately 200 atmospheres. Compared to other projection lamps, the UHP lamp is extremely efficient and features high brightness. It has a balanced color spectrum and an operating life of approximately 2,000 to 4,000 hours. The internal temperature is around 1,000 °C.
