two wave mixing (TWM)

Two Wave Mixing (TWM) is a light amplification method based on light refraction and dependent on the refractive index of

the crystal used. Light signals with opposite phase compensate each other or even cancel each other out, light signals with the same phase amplify each other, with one light signal giving up energy to the other light signal. If the information is modulated onto the amplified light beam, this is also amplified.
