trusted computing group (TCG)

The Trusted Computing Group (TCG) is a neutral organization made up of industry representatives that focuses on a platform-independent security standard and data protection. It is the successor to the TCPA.

The Trusted Computing Group (TCG) has developed the concept of trusted computing( TC), in which the operator of a personal computer can hand over control of the hardware and software to trusted third parties. As for the platform-independent security standard, the Trusted Platform Module( TPM), this is in the form of a security chip from the Trusted Computing Platform Alliance (TCPA) and is limited to protecting cryptographic keys and software attacks.
