trusted computing (TC)

Trusted Computing (TC) is a security concept developed by the Trusted Computing Group (TCG) to protect the hardware and software of a personalcomputer or other computer-based systems such as smartphones and tablets

from tampering. In Trusted Computing, control of the computer is implemented through a Trusted Platform Module (TPM), which is a security chip from the Trusted Computing Platform Alliance (TCPA). The integrity of the data structures and the hardware can be verified by the operating system and thus manipulations by malware on software and hardware can be detected and the user

can bewarned.

Trusted Computing is supported by Roots of Trust, which provides the functions and cryptographic operations in the Trusted Platform Module.
