A transition ad is an online advertisement on websites. As the name suggests, a transition ad is placed at the transition from one web page to another.

It is a kind of interstitial banner that fills the current browser window or opens a new window like a pop-up banner. Transition ads are only displayed for a few seconds and disappear afterwards or at the latest when the new web page is loaded. Due to shorter web page loading times, the use of transition ads makes little sense.
