Transactions are small, self-contained units for an uninterrupted process flow.
The ability to perform transactions
is expressed inISDN and GSM networks
bythe fact that functions and procedures
can be transmitted and processed between different units. As a rule, this involves information of the signalling channel such as SS7 signalling, i.e. information that cannot be assigned to the user channel
. The transaction capability, Transaction Capability (TC), represents a basic service for application processes, but also supports cross-system applications such as smart card recognition and is used for signalling in GSM networks with the Mobile User Part (MUP).
