Frequency bands and subcarriers for VHF broadcasting and ARI

For the announcement identification, the subcarrier for the station identification (SK) of 57 kHz

is amplitude modulated with a 125 Hz signal. The announcement signal triggers the identification tone which is transmitted before the traffic news in the VHF broadcasting and causes the switchover from normal VHF broadcasting to traffic broadcasting. The DK frequency of 125 Hz is derived from the 19 kHz frequency of the pilot tone via frequency division.
