time stamping authority (TSA)

The Time Stamping Authority (TSA) is one of several functional entities of the Security Infrastructure (PKI). This authorized instance provides a time stamping service where time-critical documents are time stamped. The document receipt is confirmed with date and time, the trustworthiness is achieved by the digitalsignature.
