time division multiple access/time division duplex (MMDS) (TDMA/TDD)

Time Division Multiple Access/Time Division Duplex(TDMA/ TDD) is one of several techniques for transmission in the access area that is also used in MMDS (Multichannel Multipoint Distribution System) and Local Multipoint Distribution Service( LMDS).

The TDMA/TDD technique differs from the TDMA/ FDD technique in that only one frequency is used for the downstream and upstream channels, and within that the time slots are time-divided for the outward and return channels. The disadvantage of this method is synchronization.
