Television on Demand (ToD) is an on-demand service offered on digital
cable networks. With ToD technology, pre-recorded programmes can be accessed in real time. ToD broadcasts are transmitted in designated time slots. With Television
on Demand, the end user decides when he or she wants to watch the program. On-demand services such as Television on Demand or Video on Demand (VoD) are increasingly used because the customer can access the programs when he or she has time to do so and does not have to wait for a broadcast date. To receive on-demand broadcasts, the set-top box must be modified.
