teleservice act

The Teleservices Act (TDG) is part of the IuKDG and regulates the use of teleservices. The Teleservices Act creates uniform framework conditions for the use of the various electronic communications services and information services.

The Teleservices Act sets out the guidelines for the publication of online services. It regulates the obligation to publish and the use of combinable data such as graphics, images, audio or video, and serves to protect website operators against infringements of the law. In this context, Section 6, which sets out the information obligations of website operators, is of particular importance. It states, among other things, that service providers must keep the following information "easily recognizable, immediately accessible and permanently available". This passage refers to the imprint, from which the name and address of the operator, the electronic contact option via e-mail, in the case of corporations the entry in the commercial register, in other cases the register of associations or cooperatives and, in addition to some other data, the VAT identification number must appear.
