telephony routing information protocol (TRIP)
The Telephony RoutingInformation Protocol (TRIP) defines an inter-administrative domain framework that indicates the reachability of telephone facilities.
Likewise, the TRIP.Protocol displays the connection attributes for the corresponding route. TRIP can act as a routing framework for all signaling protocols. It is comparable to Border Gateway Protocol (BGP4) in the way it distributes routing information between administrative domains, where TRIP is telephone information.
RFC 2871 definesthe Telephony Routing Information Protocol (TRIP) framework and RFC 3219 defines the Proposed Standard.
