telematics protocol

Telematics protocols are standardized communication protocols( ITU-T) of the transport and communication control layer of the OSI reference model that ensure globally compatible end-to-end connections in the context of telematics services. Telematics services such as Teletex, fax, etc. are transmitted via them.

In addition to the applications mentioned, there is a Next Generation Telematics Protocol( NGTP) that was developed specifically for telematics applications in motor vehicles.
