telecommunications act

The Telecommunications Act (TKG) dates from 1996 and regulates market conditions and competition in the telecommunications

sector.Through so-called asymmetric regulation, the Telecommunications Act is intended to promote more competition. Indirectly, the TKG Act also regulates pricing and the services offered by network operators and providers.

Inaddition, it ensures nationwide, adequate and sufficient service in telecommunications and determines frequency regulation.

The Telecommunications Act (TKG) replaces the former telephone monopoly of Deutsche Telekom.
