technical specification group (3GPP) (TSG)

In the Third Generation Partnership Project( 3GPP), the working groups that draw up the specifications are called the Technical Specification Group (TSG). They are made up of specialists from the individual 3GPP members, who bring the results to the attention of the International Telecommunication Union( ITU). There are five TSG groups for the core network (TSG- CN), the radio access network (TSG- RAN), for services and system aspects (TSG- SA), for terminals (TSG-T) and for GSM/ EDGE radio access networks (TSG- GERAN).
