system average interruption duration index (smart grid) (SAIDI)

In power supply networks, the reliability of the power supply is determined by various parameters. These parameters equally concern the quality of the power system and its reliability and are recorded in the Power Quality and Reliability( PQR).

One of the most important indices is the system average interruption duration or unavailability, the System Average Interruption Duration Index (SAIDI). The SAIDI shows how long a consumer is affected by a power interruption on average per year. The SAIDI value is given in minutes per year.

In addition to the System Average Interruption Duration Index (SAIDI), there is also the System Average Interruption Frequency Index ( SAIFI), the Customer Average Interruption Duration Index( CAIDI), the Customer Average Interruption Frequency Index( CAIFI) and the Momentary Average Interruption Frequency Index( MAIFI).
