System Access Control forms Chapter 7 of the British Security Standard BS 7799 for Information Security Management. This chapter describes access control to systems and information.

The defined objectives are to protect information systems from unauthorized access; activities in this direction should be detected and recorded. In addition, the protection of network-based services should be ensured, also taking into account mobile computing.
