switch to switch protocol (SSP)

The SSP protocol is a special protocol that belongs to Data Link Switching ( DSL) and is used exclusively between IBM systems 6611. The IBM systems 6611 support the physical units PU2 and PU4 from the SNA architecture and from systems connected to Token Ring using NetBIOS, as well as SNA systems connected via Synchronous Data Link Control ( SDLC). The systems connected via SDLC appear like a local area network ( LAN) within the network.
