FO cable with support element

The support element protects the cable against mechanical stresses, tensile loads or compression loads. It is dielectric and consists of a heavy-duty epoxy glass fibre rod. In the case of the chamber cable, the support element has helically arranged grooves into which the optical fibres are inserted and are thus protected against mechanical stresses.
