super physical contact (fiber optics) (SPC)

Super Physical Contact(SPC) is a face-to-face coupling in which the two optical waveguides have a physical contact. In SPC coupling, the end face of the optical fiber is convex ground and finely polished, but not as finely as in Ultra Physical Contact( UPC). SPC face coupling has a return loss of over 40 dB and an insertion loss of less than 0.3 dB.
