subsequent address message (SAM)

The Subsequent AddressMessage (SAM) is an address message in the SS7 signaling that contains the dialing digits that were not included in the initial dialing number, the Initial Address Message ( IAM). The SAM number is transmitted in sections and may contain multiple dialing digits.
