subscriber management system (SMS)

Subscriber Management System (SMS) is the name given to customer management in pay TV. It comprises all services

for ordering, recording, access authorization, delivery and billing of TV programs. Customer management forms the central customer database in which all customer-relevant data is stored. The SMS system records subscriber orders for television programs, checks and manages the subscriber authorization system (SAS) and ensures timely transmission and billing.
