Subnetwork Dependent Convergence Protocol (SNDCP) is an OSI protocol for the interconnection of different subnetworks. It is a subnetwork-independent convergence protocol that works with encapsulation of
an IP protocol data unit. The SNDCP protocol is used in General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) and other applications. Since the GPRS terminal sits on top of the network layer, the IP or X.25 packets are mapped to the link layer control layer by the Subnetwork Dependent Convergence Protocol (SNDCP). SNDCP can split datagrams or data packets coming from the network layer into individual segments, multiplex several datagrams of the network layer and transmit them via a single virtual connection.
