subcarrier spacing (SCS)

If signals are transmitted via modulated subcarriers, the frequency bands of

the subcarriers must have a certain frequency spacing from each other. If the subcarriers are too close together and their frequency bands overlap, the modulated subcarriers will influence each other and interference will occur. To avoid this in any case, there is usually a safety frequency band between the subfrequency bands. The frequency spacing of the subcarriers is called subcarrier spacing (SCS) and corresponds approximately to the bandwidth of the subcarrier channel.
