start of frame (FC) (SOF)

Start of Frame (SOF) is a data field used in a wide variety of protocols. The SoF data field is the first data field that follows the preamble and is used to indicate the start of a data packet. This data field is followed by various other data fields and the user data. The end of the data packet is indicated by End of Frame( EOF).
