space division multiple access (SDMA)

Space Division Multiple Access (SDMA) is a multiple access method for radio communication systems in which the same frequencies are used several times. The procedure, which is based on space division multiplexing, is used, for example, in cellular networks and in satellite communication

. With SDMA technology, a transmitter can send several signals on the same frequency, but these are transmitted with different polarizations in space. On the transmitter side, multiple use is achieved via polarization-selective antennas. The polarization can be aligned vertically or horizontally, or rotated to the right or left. Wave selection takes place via the antenna aligned in the polarization plane or via the LNC converter in the satellite antenna.
