sound retrieval system (audio) (SRS)

Sound Retrieval System (SRS) is a patented technique for reproducing surround sound through two speakers or stereo headphones.

In SRS technology, the psychoacoustic features that characterize surround sound are generated by computer technology. This includes the listener experiencing spatial depth during sound reproduction and being able to localize individual instruments and performers. Even sound sources located behind the listener can be simulated. In addition, SRS technology widens the area in which the spatial sound impression is created. The listener is therefore not fixed to a particular sitting position during playback via loudspeakers.
