sone
Loudness is the subjectively perceived noise level, it is given in sone, which is derived from the Latin sonare (to sound). The sone was formed from the findings of psychoacoustics and takes into account the hearing characteristics with their frequency and level dependence.
The loudness is determined by the volume and the type of sound event. A longer lasting sound is perceived louder than an impulsive one.
