Software Defined Video over Ethernet (SDVoE) is a powerful, software-based AV-over- IP platform for controlling and distributing audiovisual systems over Ethernet networks. Via SDVoE, uncompressed video in 4K standard, audio, control signals and data can be transmitted at a data rate of 1 Gbit/s.
In terms of transmission, unlike HDBaseT transmission, SDVoE can be done over standard Ethernet switches. This gives the systems a high degree of flexibility and scalability and makes them much more cost-effective than HDBaseT. This is due to the fact that HDBaseT requires video matrix switches, which are more expensive, and the Ethernet ports of traditional Ethernet switches are functionally bidirectional and can act as both AV input ports and AV output ports.
SDVoE is an AV-over-IP standard that supports all seven layers of the OSI reference model. It uses Ethernet, TCP/IP and, with the IGMP protocol, group communication. It also has flexible and powerful audiovisual signal transmissionand signal control. The network required for SDVoE is 10 Gigabit Ethernet( 10GbE). The cabling system must meet category 6A and link classAE. Cabling with twisted and shielded wires conforming to 10GBase-T is recommended.
