slow ACCH (mobile communications) (SACCH)

The Slow Associated Control Channel (SACCH) is a signaling channel in GSM networks between the radio base station( BTS) and the mobile station that is assigned to each transmission channel.

The SACCH channel is used to exchange signalinginformation that is used to maintain the radio link. In addition to the signaling information, messages can also be transmitted via the Slow Associated Control Channel using the short message service( SMS).
