single segment message (SSM)

Single SegmentMessage (SSM) are used in ATM networks to occupy the segment type identification field of ATM Adaption Layer ( AAL) type 3/4 SAR PDUs. They indicate that the entire SAR SDU is located in the corresponding SAR PDU.
