single protocol router (SPR)

Single ProtocolRouters (SPR) belong to the low-end routers and only support a single protocol. They are therefore rarely used. A single protocol router connects LAN subnets based on only a single network layer protocol. It can be a LAN-LAN or LAN-WAN connection.
