single entry point (lightning protection) (SEP)

The Single Entry Point(SEP) is a concept for lightning protection zones.

In contrast to known lightning protection systems with external and internal lightning protection, with the Single Entry Point all incoming and outgoing lines of a building or room are combined at one point, namely the Single Entry Point. At the SEP point, the telephone cables, antenna cables, low- voltage power lines and data lines are brought together and protected against overvoltage. The Single Entry Point is connected to the ground via the equipotential bonding bar.
