sine power

In power amplifiers, a distinction is made between nominal power, peak power and sinusoidal power.

The sine power corresponds to the continuous power of a sine tone. It is an effective value resulting from a sinusoidal signal. The sine power is much higher than the nominal power.

DIN has specified the measurement of sine power in DIN 45324 and 45500 for high quality power amplifiers. According to this, a continuous sinusoidal tone of 1 kHz must be emitted for 10 minutes without the distortion factor exceeding 1%.
